Keith started the ArtStar Project with a mission and motivation to offer artists an affordable workspace.


ArtStar project sponsored an artist-driven gallery and developed programs that extend the arts and artists into the greater community, and, by doing so created a community in which the arts and artists could flourish.

As a result, Seattle had a special place for artists to meet and exchange ideas, to create art affordably, and offer the possibility for public exhibitions. The ArtStar Project enabled artists to work in a supportive environment that was deeply committed to the greater Seattle community. The ArtStar Project community consisted of artists working in a wide range of mediums.

Li'l Red Shack Gallery

The Li’l Red Shack Gallery resided at 1028 1st Ave. S. in Seattle, WA. Regular gallery hours were Thursday through Sunday 12 – 5pm


As the rents escalated thanks to a new baseball stadium, Safeco Field, across the street, Keith moved ArtStar to Los Angeles and then Providence, Rhode Island. Much of what is online currently is a historical reference to the Seattle days

ArtStar Community

The ArtStar Project believed a community is nothing without a lively engagement by its people


The organization was based on the values of community and creativity. To provide value, The ArtStar Project advocated on behalf of Seattle's artists and its arts, and contributed to the Seattle community by offering centrally located affordable studios, educational programs and workshops.

Classes and Workshops

Attending a workshop is great way to renew your love for creating art, learn new techniques, brush up on your skills, and interact with fellow artists. By joining a class, or enrolling in a workshop, you make a commitment to yourself and your needs as an artist, or creative individual.

To facilitate creation, ArtStar Project classes and workshops were provided by qualified professional artists from around the country. Participation also helped expand the ArtStar Project community.

Keith Tabellione Biography

Keith put his heart and soul into the ArtStar Project, inspiring many to consider the value of art in the community. His passion for creating performance art and mixed media art that drew attention to inequities he felt were unacceptable to let continue without a greater awareness in society.
